This piece is based on an old sketch of mine that I had been sitting on for a while. When I hit my next creative blank space I decided that this is what I was going to paint; however, the mood in which I was in was...' frustrated' to put it politely.

I like how that can be seen in the frantic brushstrokes, particularly in the hand which was partly inspired by a sketch by Philip Guston in 1969. I don't think this painting could have been made to my satisfaction had I not been in this particular mood.
